Headshots and personal brand photography are so important for your business. I know it can be daunting putting yourself out there. I do get it,  most of us don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. It might even feel like showing off. But putting yourself out there can be brilliant for your business. Read here why it is important and how it can help to grow your business. Though for now I have 4 tips how to prepare and go confident into your personal brand session.

It’s all about emotions!

Before you start looking for what clothes to wear or creating a mood board on Pinterest, think first about what emotions you want to share with your audience. It is not just about pretty pictures, you have to make people feel something if you want their attention.

What are your colours?

You have your brand colours right? Knowing your colours is an important step in the planning process. Understand what colour complements your brand, than you can start selecting your clothing, locations and lighting.

What to wear?

Prints can be distracting in photographs, consider wearing solid colours.
However there are always exceptions, especially in fashion. A printed top in a not busy location can look beautiful and make you stand out more. Maybe you are known to wear certain prints then it is part of you and becomes your signature style. So if you choose to wear a print think how that piece complements your brand. And don’t forget to bring different options to create different looks.

Be yourself!

Your personal branding photoshoot should be all about you. If you don’t wear dresses, please don’t feel like you have to go and buy a dress because you saw it in someones Instagram feed.
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident and shows your personality. Your audience want to get to know the real YOU. It might be more important to invest in a stylist.
I always feel a little bit more confident with well done make up and hair.
